Principal GP
Dr Sockalingam is a dedicated medical professional specialising in general practice, with clinics across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Stirlingshire. He combines extensive NHS partnership experience with the time and attention that private practice allows, caring for individual patients and small businesses alike.
Graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 2004 and completing his MRCGP training in 2007, Dr Sockalingam has spent over two decades building a reputation for thoroughness, empathy, and genuine continuity of care. Patients are not a number here; they are known and understood.
Throughout his career, Dr Sockalingam has remained committed to excellence, professionalism, and patient-centred care. In 2021, he took on the role of NHS Educational Supervisor and GP Trainer within the West of Scotland RCGP Training Programme contributing directly to shaping the next generation of general practitioners.
In 2022, he founded CAS Medical: a private GP service designed to give individuals and businesses the quality of healthcare they deserve, delivered at a pace that allows real clinical thinking not just symptom management

2004
Graduated from the University of Edinburgh
Awarded his MBChB degree — the foundation of a clinical career built on rigour, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to patient welfare.
2007
Completed General Practitioner Training (MRCGP)
Qualified as a GP and joined NHS practice, bringing the breadth of training — from acute medicine to chronic disease management — into the consulting room every day.
2008
Became GP Partner in Lanarkshire
Took on partnership responsibilities within an NHS practice, developing deep roots in the Lanarkshire community and building long-term relationships with patients across a wide range of clinical needs.
2016
Moved to Wishaw, Continuing as a GP Partner
Expanded his patient reach across North and South Lanarkshire, broadening experience in complex chronic disease management, men’s health, and occupational medicine.
2021
Completed NHS Educational Supervisor Training — Became GP Trainer
Joined the West of Scotland Royal College of General Practitioners Training Programme as a GP Trainer, taking on formal responsibility for mentoring and developing the next generation of GPs. A role awarded only to those recognised for exceptional clinical standards and teaching ability.
2022
Founded CAS Medical
Established CAS Medical — a private GP service for individuals and businesses, built to deliver the depth of care that time-constrained NHS appointments simply cannot. The practice reflects everything Dr Sockalingam believes healthcare should be: proactive, personal, and unhurried.
